B-SIDE: A different view

B-Side is a personal artistic vision that explores the dynamic and vibrant world of polo through the lens of modernism. I sought to capture motion and movement in still images. Polo is a vigorous sport, very fast, with high pulsations, often played in the sweltering heat. The B-Side collection, like the commissioned work, portrays the horses, action, strength, and the overall vibrancy of the sport.

Polo is an ancient sport steeped in tradition and formality. The B-Side collection, in contrast, is edgy and new, formed from modernist sensibilities. My use of segmentation helped me create distilled pieces more suggestive of the intricacy of action. A process of digital editing contrasts the heat of the action with cold and deep tones that capture the essence of that unique moment in time.
